With two weeks left in the regular season, the playoff picture is getting much clearer, but there are still some spots yet to be decided.

The NFC playoff standings shifted on Thursday in Week 16 with the Seahawks pulling off an exciting overtime win over the Rams, giving them first place in the NFC West and the top seed in the conference. The NFC almost has all of its playoff teams set, as the Cowboys' loss to the Chargers in Week 16 eliminated them from the playoffs and helped the 49ers clinch a playoff spot. The Panthers got a big win over the Buccaneers, putting them in first place in the NFC South. The Bears' comeback win over the Packers gives them their own path to the NFC North title.

The AFC playoff situation still has a couple of races to decide. The Colts suffered their fifth straight loss. During the losing streak, they went from the top seed in the AFC to potentially missing the playoffs. That’s because the Jaguars have won six straight, the Texans have won seven, and now those two will fight for the AFC South. The Steelers' win over the Lions and the Ravens' loss to the Patriots now allows Pittsburgh to control its own path to the AFC North title.

The MVP race looks like it's coming down to the wire. The Rams' overtime loss to the Seahawks had an impact on Matthew Stafford’s (-220) odds, but he still holds a lead. However, Drake Maye’s (+185) win over the Ravens tightened his odds, and with two games left, this race is far from over.

Week 17 Preview

Week 17 brings several exciting matchups, and some could be potential playoff previews. Christmas Day has three games, but the one with playoff implications is between the Lions and Vikings. Detroit needs to win out and get some help to have a chance to earn a playoff spot.

There are two games on Saturday, each having playoff implications. The Chargers are in the playoffs, but they have to take on the red-hot Texans, who need just one win to earn a postseason spot. The Ravens' playoff chances are slim, but they still have a shot as they head to Lambeau Field to face the Packers, who can secure a playoff spot with a win.

Sunday features several matchups with potential playoff teams. The Seahawks aim to secure the No. 1 seed in the NFC, as they face the Panthers, who are in a close race with the Buccaneers in the NFC South. The Jaguars could end the Colts' playoff hopes and clinch the AFC South. The Eagles and Bills are two teams ready for a playoff run and could potentially be a future Super Bowl matchup. The week concludes with the Bears heading to San Francisco to face the 49ers, who could possibly be a playoff preview in the NFC.
