The kickoff to the 2025 NFL season gave us some thrilling games. The matchups that had the spotlight brought the most excitement as all primetime matchups were settled by one score, and two saw 4th Quarter comebacks.

Moneyline (Straight-Up) Picks

We monitor expert sports bettors across the world and track their picks. Here are the Pickwatch Experts who fared best with moneyline picks in Week 1:

Conor picked a couple of upsets in Week 1, including the Chargers (+150) over the defending AFC Champion Chiefs and the Raiders (+120) defeating the Patriots on the road. His two misses were the Jets (+140), which held a late lead against the Steelers, and took a risk on the Saints (+280), one of the bigger moneyline underdogs of the week.

DRatings went heavily with the favorites, but did correctly pick the Bills (+105) in their comeback against the Ravens. Picking mostly favorites did not work in his favor in some cases, including the Chiefs (-170) being upset by the Chargers and the Patriots (-134) losing at home to the Raiders.

Eric went heavily with the favorites in Week 1, but did pick the Bills moneyline upset over the Ravens. Eric’s two misses were the other two upsets, including choosing the Chiefs over the Chargers and the Patriots over the Raiders.

T-1. Kevin Sherrington

Kevin went with the favorites in all but two games, one of which he predicted correctly in the Chargers beating the Chiefs. He went against the consensus of the other experts that went 14-2 and missed on the Seahawks' (+114) upset bid vs. the 49ers.

numberFire, which was recently acquried by FanDuel and now operates under the moniker FanDuel Research, went across the board with favorites, except for the Bills, who won as a slight upset against the Ravens. They could not correctly pick the other upsets in Week 1, however, and had the Chiefs over the Chargers and Patriots against the Raiders as their two losses.
