John Dillinger will have to wait, I'm going to get the overall standings out of the way before I do 'real' work.
Before we crack on, I've noticed a few extra sites such as the excellent ProFootballFocus also do straight up picks each week. I haven't added them this season but I will be doing a round-up after the Super Bowl that will include them as part of the analysis of who did best in 2012. This being an independent site, I have no beef with anyone, nor any allegiance to any particular competitors or networks, so as of next year I'll be adding PFF and any other networks or websites that keep track of their picks to the overall standings. If you're aware of any just hit me up on twitter and let me know and I'll add them.
Oh and one final thing: How many missed picks this week? The NFL guys are the worst for this, especially the NFL AM guys like Eric Davis and Mark Kriegel. The irony of it is that overall, someone like Davis would be reasonably high in the rankings if he'd picked every game, but I can't include someone who only picks certain games.
ON WITH THE STANDINGS:
The Danish Discerner gets back the one game advantage he lost last time out to Wickers, who had a naughty week where he picked some mad teams like Kansas Shi... well, let's just say he had some odd picks for someone who was joint leader. Still, I admire him for having the stones to back a team that are so plainly useless. His 9-7 let Marc Sessler back into the overall race with an 11-5 that puts him within 3 of the overall lead and 2 of Wickers. Can the Sizzler do it? He's in good form but Mortensen has proved time and again that he's thoroughly consistent. This one will probably go down to the last week of the regular season.

At the bottom, Mark Kriegel finally dislodges Sterling Sharpe for last place. I always look at Kriegel and think he looks like Uncle Jack Kelly from 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia'. Don't believe me? Look to your right my friends... all I'm saying is I've never seen Kriegel's hands on TV.

Biggest Climbers: Mike Florio (PFT) and Yahoo! Users: +12
The Cynical Sicilian used his powers for good rather than evil this week and leaps a hefty 12 spots in the table. Florio has quietly put together a good stretch in the latter part of the season and is now right on the cusp of the top 10. Well done Mike, at the very least you should easily be the best PFT picker.
yahoo users also improved, taking them to 13th just below Florio. Interestingly, the 'pick 'em' style entrants this year are right up at the top of the standings, which just goes to show: If you don't know who to pick, just go with what everyone else thinks.

Biggest Fallers: Michael Irvin (NFL Network) and Gregg Rosenthal (NFL Around the League)

You know what these guys need to do? Follow the stellar advice of pro football stars, who are always there for a handy phrase or two that can keep life in perspective. Take Steven Jackson for example, he just posted on twitter:

'Forward thinking moves you forward. Surround yourself with those who strive to be upwardly mobile. Bless others & your reward is far greater'

I don't even know what we used to do for meaningless phrases before the NFL.

Anyway, bad week for two good pickers, both of whom fall out of the top 20 (Irvin was actually 7th) in a week of big moves. It was our 'Statement Sunday', but the only two statements these two guys made was 'we definitely won't win this competition any more'. Shame as Irvin* is quietly... well,_ 'quietly' _is the wrong word... becoming one of the most reliable analysts around and has a habit of busting out consistent picks. Frankly though, both still have a serious shot at the top 10. All they have to do is pick games right. preferably more than 50%. Half of the games. That's your target next week guys. Just... as many wins as losses. Cool.

* At this juncture something serious: I thought it was really cool of Michael Irvin to put himself on the line and do that whole gay magazine cover last year ([not sure about his choice of outfit mind...](http://www.out.com/sites/out.com/files/2sportsMichaelIrvin10.jpg)) purely because it took guts to be so open in a world where I doubt many of his peers agree with the sentiment. Anyway, I always respect dudes who go against convention and in that respect, nobody can say Irvin hasn't done what he can to disprove the caricature he used to be._
